This black herringbone vest was once a blazer and now has been altered into a vest/waistcoat. Wear this vest to dress up or down, it doesn't matter. It's one of a kind, altered by me, into a timeless piece that's a little bit more versatile than the blazer jacket it once was.
The front of the vest is a boxy style but when you turn it around and look at the back, there is a band across the bottom and above that the fabric blouses out and has a center pleat that goes up the back. Very classy and flattering.
- Vintage by Peabody House. Probably from the 1980's.
- The fabric is 62% polyester, 35% wool, 3% other fibers. Black with a very subtle gray, blue and red herringbone pattern.
- Features pockets at the hip areas that you can easily slip your hands into. that flap over and button down.
- Sleeves have been removed and I have hand sewed a simple black cotton bias tape inside of the armholes to create this vest.
- Fully lined in black nylon acetate.
- This vest will come to you dry cleaned and ready to wear.
- The piece is in very good vintage condition. I cannot see any flaws.
-The label states size 7/8. Since we all know that vintage garments were sized differently, I suggest you check measurements before considering.
Measurements while buttoned up and laying flat:
Chest (armpit to armpit across bust): 20” or 40" around.
Length (from neck to bottom at the back of the vest): 26.5”
Waist: 19” or 38" around.
